About UAS Midwest

Welcome to the fifth annual UAS Conference, UAS Midwest – “UAS Aviation: A Partnership for the Future!”

This year’s event will reflect the advancements in this fast-paced industry throughout the Midwest. As our industry grows, we hope this regional focus will encourage collaboration and partnerships throughout our region. Our new name highlights all of the UAS capabilities, applications and developments present in the Midwest.

This year’s event seeks to promote UAS community partnerships between representatives from government, industry and academia. We plan to examine requirements for access into the National Airspace System (NAS), review technologies associated with enabling UAS applications, and discuss recent developments within the research and academic community.

At last year’s conference we had great discussions concerning the integration of UAS into the NAS with a focus on the advancement of technology and initiatives supporting the development of this ever-emerging industry. Our agenda will take last year’s discussions to the next level, covering topics such as governmental updates, precision agriculture, autonomy, airspace access, modeling and simulation, manufacturing, UAS regulations and law, and first responders.

Based on the feedback from 2015, the exhibits will remain in the large exhibit hall to allow for more peer-to-peer networking opportunities. We feel this conference offers a unique opportunity to connect to new players in the industry, reconnect with established collaborators, and take advantage of the large defense community surrounding Dayton. You can’t find a better opportunity to focus your regional networking efforts.

Our nation continues to face economic challenges and look for ways to increase productivity. As we’ve seen over the years, developments in the UAS industry can contribute to our capabilities as a nation in so many ways. We hope this year’s new UAS Midwest will assist with strategically supporting each of our goals towards enhancing this dynamic growth sector.

If you are a current or future participant in the UAS community, we invite you to attend this year’s event. We hope our conference will exceed your expectations and also give you the chance to enjoy the hospitality of the State of Ohio, its partners, and the Dayton Region!
